Super Smash Bros Brawl DLC

•November 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Like the post i did for MUA2, I also want downloadable characters for Brawl. Most people agree with me here that they want downloadable content for Wii games, preferably for Brawl. Below is a list of characters I want to see if they ever get downloadable characters(which is very unlikely.)

Note: I think I have already posted something similar to this but Im going into greater detail and having more characters.

1: Sora-The main character in the Kingdom Hearts series. He was once rumored to be in it, but they decided not to put him in. I would love to see him in it if they ever have downloadable characters.

2:Mewtwo-If I still liked Pokemon, and was five, this would be the pokemon I would most want to see in Brawl. He was always my favorite pokemon. Plus, he actually talked so that was a one-up from the annoying pokemon saying their names over and over.

3:Master Chief- By putting in Snake, to me, signifies that just about anybody can make their way into Brawl. If that’s the case, I would love to see the Halo hero make his way into the Brawl arena.

4:Paper Mario-I was a little sad when they didnt have any alternate Mario character in Brawl. The most one I was hoping for was Paper Mario. I difintely want to see him in it if they make downloadable characters.

5:Spyro-My favorite purple dragon. There has been nothing bout him for awhile now. This would be just the thing to bring him back into the spotlight.

6:Jak- From Jak and Daxter, one of my favorite video game series. For some reason, they look like they would fit perfectly in this game. I would love to see them in it.

7:Crypto- I think it would be so cool and hilarious, to see the alien from Destroy All Humans blast his way into Brawl. Using his flying saucer as a final smash I can definitely see him in it. He needs this, mainly to redeem himself from the 3rd game.

8:Crash- Although I dont like the direction they have taken this once great video game character recently( in Mind over Mutant, etc.) I would like to still see him in Brawl.

9:Ratchet-Main guy from the Ratchet and Clank series. Thought he would fit in well with Brawl as well.

10:Okami-One of the weirdest yet one of my favorite games. I would like to see that loveable wolf in it as well.

MUA2 Downloadable Characters I Want

•November 6, 2009 • 1 Comment

With the new downloadable pack of characters for MUA2 I am excited. From new characters like Carnage to Magneto(Who you could play as if you had an Xbox for the first one) I am pumped. I also am hoping they do more characters. Below is a list I want to see in the next DLC package if they make another.

1. Toxin- The offspring of Carnage. I know Toxin has kinda been forgotten but putting him in MUA2 could really bring him back to the public eye. He was one of the most interesting symbiotes. He was actually a good guy, not a villain like Carnage, or an anti-hero like Venom.

2. Doctor Doom- Ruler of Latveria and one of Marvel’s greatest super villains. I would love to see him in the next DLC character pack. Technically, he was dead during the Civil War, which the game is loosly based on, but it doesnt really matter, since Thor and Hulk werent even in the Civil War but they put them in the game anyway.

3. Punisher-I was dissappointed when the Punisher wasnt in the game. He was actually in the Civil War comic and he should have been in it. I was even more sadden when he wasnt announced to be in the DLC character pack. Hopefully though, if they make another they’ll put him in it.

4. Doc Oct-  I was really hoping he was going to be a downloadable character. What could be more fun than playing the eight-armed super criminal(and best villain from the spidey films). The possibilites for fusions and attacks would be endless. He’s probably one of the most wanted on my list.

5.Ghostrider- I was shocked that they didnt put Ghostrider in MUA2 but would put him in the first.  I would love to play the demon-killing Johnny Blaze. Hopefully they will put in if the make another character pack.

6.Howard the Duck- Dont ask. Just want to see it happen and see how they will do it and what he will look like. I think Howard the Duck is a pretty cool character, despite his awful movie. To me, MU2 is a chance to reintroduce characters long forgotten and make them great. This is Howard’s chance to shine, but mainly I just want a good laugh.

7. Nightcrawler-One of my favorite X-Men. He was one of my most hoped for characters in MUA2. I was incredibly mad that you could only play as him in the first one for the Xbox. I just hope they’ll make him into a downloadable.

8. Red Skull- One of Captain America’s enemies and is one of his greatest. He was a Nazi leader and kicks as much butt as Doom.It would be a site to see him team up with Cap taking down enemies with a fusion.

9.Man-Thing- A chance to bring this ol character back into the spotlight. Like Howard and Toxin, he is probably one of the least remembered of Marvel. Bringing him into MUA2 could be interesting, and more importantly, more fun!

10.Doctor Strange- Although he certainly wasnt one of the best characters in the first game, they could have made him ten times better if they had put him in the second. Orginally, Strange stayed out of the Civil War conflict and just let the heroes fight each other, but since MUA2 didnt really follow Civil War too strictly I thought why not put him in.

I may put up more in the future. For a special treat, here’s the trailers for each of the downloadable characters confirmed below.

Carnage

Cable

Psylocke

Magneto

Juggernaut(not part of the pack, but can now get him for 1.99)

Black Panther

Where the Wild Things Are

(4 out of 5) First off let me say this movie is not for everyone. Children will like this movie and some adults. For the adults though, they will have to be able more than likely to grasp the beauty of the film. With each monster either representing a person in his life, or one of his emotions. The film teaches us that it’s getting harder and harder to be a kid in the world today.

The movie is about a kid named Max, who is sick of his life. His sister wants to have nothing to do with him, his mother is dating a new guy, and he feels left out of everything. Max runs away and is soon swept away to a new world with wild monsters. He proclaims himself king and hopes to have a better life, but it’s going to be harder than he thinks.

The movie is just beautiful. With it’s monsters done beautifully and real-looking and just the all around film.  The film had a wonderful message and a deep meaning to it. It even managed to put some comedy into it. However, im not sure it’s for children. It had some pretty intense scenes and even a bad word or two. Once again though, if you dont pay attention to this film and just take in it’s wonderous atmosphere then you’ll probably not going to like this. The movie isnt really for everyone. Its not the kind of movie you just pick up at the video store to rent.

Although, this amazing movie isnt without flaws. At times the movie would slow down and just get boring. They would linger and just drag on a scene for way too long.  Plus, I wasnt really satisfied with the ending.

In conclusion, this was a movie that you have to have an acquired taste to. Either you’ll love it, or just downright hate it. I absolutely loved it.  However, im a little unsure whether to recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a deep movie that will make you think and even cry a little then this is a movie for you. If you are searching for an action movie or a knee-slapping comedy then I suggest you see something else, like Zombieland.

Zombieland

(4.5 out of 5)If you’re looking for action, comedy,Woody Harrelson, and gore, this is the movie for you!I came into this movie expecting it to be ok. Well I was blown away at how good it was. I just thought it was gonna be another one of those dumb comedies(which I cant stand) but I was wrong. With a great cast and a hilarious story it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year(way better than Transformers 2)

The story starts off with Columbus(Jesse Eisenburg) running into Tallahassee(Woody Harrelson) so they both stay together to survive the zombie infested world. In search of the last twinkie they run into two girls, Wichita(Emma Stone), and her little sister, Little Rock(Abigail Breslin). Reluctantly, they team up to stay alive against the endless horde of meat-eating zombies.

Overall, this was a great flick. My only problems with it is they really didnt go into detail why everyone was a zombie and the movie was way too short. It was like over as soon as it begun. They should have put in at least 15 or 30 more minutes in the film. Despite it’s very little flaws, I will definitely be buying this on DVD and I recommend this film to anyone wanting to see a good comedy. You won’t be disappointed.

358/2 Days (DS)

•October 14, 2009 • 9 Comments

(4.5 out of 5) Im not much of a handheld console kinda guy, however, I am a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, which lead me to give the Nintendo DS 358/2 Days game a chance. I was blown away with this game and have a renewed faith in handheld games.  I was worried this game wouldn’t live up to the previous KH games and would not fit well into the story. I was wrong. It had a deep, compelling story that left you craving for more and to find out how it all ended.

You play as Roxas, the 13th member in Organization 13. You play to when he first joined the Organization, till when he leaves it. The story revolves aroundRoxas and  the 14th member,Xion, and her connection to everything. It thanks to her actions, that pushes Roxas to desert the Organization. I won’t give much away.

The gameplay was great. It felt just as great as the other KH games with a little spice added to it. You got to play as other Organization members in mission mode, which is basically the same missions you did in story mode, only you dont have to play as Roxas. The only problem I had with the game was that the missions started to get repetitive and visiting other worlds, while it was cool, didnt really contribute to the main story. I wished that Roxas had a bigger role in the world stories, than he actually had.

The graphics to the game were pretty good for a handheld. Almost as good as the graphics if it were on a console. The in-game graphics were better than I thought it would be and the cut-scenes were amazing.

Overall, this is a worthy addition to the Kingdom Hearts series. Even if you are not a KH fan, you’ll have loads of fun with this game. With only small faults, this is a masterpiece for a handheld.

Playable Characters:

All the Organization members

Xion

Riku

Batman Arkham Asylum(PS3)

•October 13, 2009 • 4 Comments

(5 out of 5) This is like the game of the year. It has everything, action, a plot that keeps you hooked from the start, awesome voice-acting, real-life graphics, and did I forget to mention action! With voice actors from the orginal Batman:The Animated Series, like Kevin Conroy(Batman)and Mark Hamill(Joker),  it made the game ten times better. To me, this game felt like a interactive sequel to the Dark Knight.

The game starts off with Batman apprending the Joker and bringing him back to Arkham Asylum. Batman stays for awhile, sensing that something is wrong, due to Joker giving up almost without a fight. As soon as Joker is in Arkham, he escapes and runs deeper into the asylum. Things only get bad from worse when the inmates are set free and Joker takes control of the entire Arkham Island. Now Batman must put a stop to Joker and whatever he is planning.

The gameplay is awesome. The combat is great but it doesnt stop there. Like Batman, you have to use your brain and try to take down armed thugs as quietly as you can.  Most of the gameplay revolves around stealth, like going behind enemies and slowly taking them out one by one. You also have a arsenal of weapons to help you out, like the batclaw, explosive gel,and of course baterangs. You also have to use your mind a bit to get out of traps and to save hostages, so it’s not all punch and kick.

Not only was the gameplay something to keep you hooked on, the story and graphics as well was something to be admired. I really loved how detailed they were with the game, showing scratches and tears in Batman’s uniform as the game progressed, and how the asylum in general.  The story, on the other hand, will keep you guessing and has a few surprises in store for you.

I was, unforunately, disappointed with the lack of characters in this game. They were just too few Batman villains, but the few they did have, were done really well. The ones that weren’t in the game, however, could be unlocked with Character Bios. I just wished they would have put in more of them, because in this game, the possibilities were endless. I’m just hoping they are saving them for a sequel.

Another thing that left me unsatisfied was the final boss battle. I’m not going to ruin anything but the way they had the Joker and the overall battle felt lazy and rushed, like they ran out of their creative juice. I think they could have had the ending way better. It should have been cooler and more epic than it actually was.

Overall, this was a game for the ages! It had everything a classic game needs, with only a few things they should have worked on. If you own a PS3 or Xbox360, this game is sure worth the money to add to your collection. Even if you’re not a Batman fan, you will be amazed by this game and before you know it, you will be popping this bad boy in again for your second go.
